What Is Lunaiism?

Lunai is a secular pantheist religion. Basically, this means that rather than believing in Gods, or mystical phenomenon, we believe that everything as a whole is divine. In Lunaiism true joy is found through the worship of what is objectively real.

Have you ever felt spiritually moved by a stroll in the mountains, a visit to an art gallery, or maybe even by a great book or song? Have you ever learned something so amazing that it completely changed your perspective? We call these moments “mini-enlightenments” and for us, they are what life is all about.

Why Lunai focuses on knowledge, creativity, and compassion:

We believe that the key to having an enlightenment filled life is to seek knowledge, creativity, and compassion. The more we understand our universe and those we share it with, the more connected to them we feel. Creativity fills our lives with color and imagination and gives us insight into the lives and emotions of others, helping us to develop greater empathy and compassion. The more compassion we feel and practice, the more joy and peace we experience and share with our fellow beings.

How Lunaiists “Worship”:

Lunaiism is practiced simply by learning to recognize the moments, experiences, and ideas in our lives that are worth spiritually acknowledging; by expanding our understanding of the world around us; and, most importantly, by striving to develop and show compassion.

Meditation is an important part Lunaiism, but by meditation we essentially just mean intentional moments of quiet reflection, calm, and deep steady breathing. Meditation helps one to slow down, experience the present, and reflect and contemplate more completely. It can improve ones physical and mental health and help them become more resilient and open-minded.

Diversity and inclusion in Lunaiism:

In Lunaiism we celebrate diversity and welcome all people equally, regardless of race, gender, or sexuality. Diversity strengthens our community and helps us develop greater tolerance and compassion. We believe that love is love, and family is family. That includes a family one finds for themselves. Whether your family is seeking a community, or you are seeking a new family, The Lunai community welcomes you.
